Ritzy Reeses Squares

This is a recipe that a friend of ours made for us the other day. These are super easy, no bake, and only have 5 ingredients.  I know they look like a lot of other chocolate peanut butter bar recipes out there, but they have a secret ingredient! Our friends told us as they were dishing them up that the recipe called for graham cracker crumbs, but since they didn't have any on hand, they used Ritz crackers instead. And oh my heavens, was it a great substitute! It was perfectly sweet and salty, and chocolaty and peanut buttery and just yum.  =)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups crushed Ritz crackers
1 lb confectioners'sugar (3-3 1/2 cups)
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 cup butter, melted
1 (12 oz) bag milk chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Combine the crushed Ritz, sugar, peanut butter and mix well.
2.  Stir in melted butter until combined, will still be a little gritty/chunky looking because of crackers
3.  Press mixture into a 9x13" pan.  Either grease, or line the pan with tin foil or they will be hard to lift out.
4.  Melt chocolate chips and spread over peanut butter layer
5.  Chill until set, cut them before the chocolate gets too hard or it will crack.

My peanut butter mixture was a little too runny to press into the pan, so I just spread it and set it in the fridge while I melted the chocolate chips.  I did NOT let it get cool, just let it get stiff enough on top so that I was able to spread the chocolate on top without mixing the two layers together.

HERE is the recipe that our friends made that they followed, and altered.

So yeah!  These were super easy and yummy!  For those of you who are sweet and salty lovers, or peanut butter and chocolate lovers, I would give it a try!

Hope you enjoy!
